Product Description

Product Description

Industrial Applications of Di (PROPYLENE GLYCOL) Butyl Ether in Cosmetics & Personal CareAppearance: Colourless, transparent liquid, some sources describe it as having a faint fragrance or odour.
Density: Approximately 0.913 g/mL at 25°C (some sources also give a density of 0.9536 g/mL at 20°C, which may be due to minor variations due to different sources or testing conditions).
Boiling point: usually between 222 and 232°C.
Flash Point: Open Flash Point is approximately 93°C, and Closed Flash Point is approximately 78°C (different flash point values have also been given by some sources, which again may be due to testing conditions or the effect of different isomers).
Refractive index: about 1.426 (refractive index of 1.4316 at 20°C is also given).
Solubility: soluble in water and a variety of organic solvents, such as alcohols, ketones, esters and so on.
Third, chemical properties
Stability: It has stable chemical properties and is not easy to undergo oxidation, reduction, hydrolysis and other reactions.
Reactivity: It can cross-link with many resins and polymers to produce stable compounds.
Fourth, application areas
Coating industry: As a film-forming additive for water-based coatings, it can improve the film-forming property, adhesion, stability and abrasion resistance of coatings. At the same time, it also helps to defoam and prevent the coating from cracking, wrinkles and other problems.
Cleaning agent: It is suitable for use in cleaning agent systems that require very low evaporation rates, such as wax removers and floor cleaners. It is also a coupling agent for greases and oils and can be used as a paint remover and animal fat remover.
Ink industry: as a dispersant and thickener, it can make the ink even in texture and bright in colour, and reduce the viscosity of the ink, to improve the printing efficiency and quality.
Dyestuff industry: as a solvent for dyestuff, it improves the solubility and dispersibility of dyestuff, and improves the colour fastness and vividness at the same time.
Resin industry: As a monomer of polymer, it participates in the synthesis reaction of resin and generates stable resin compounds.
Adhesives and surfactants: As raw materials, they enhance the viscosity of adhesives and optimise adhesion; surfactants improve the stability and foaminess of liquids.
Other applications: It is also widely used in agricultural products, cosmetics, electronic inks and textiles.
