High-Purity Diglycolamine (DGA) for Chemical Synthesis
Appearance: colourless or light yellow liquid, slightly viscous slightly amine taste
Melting point: -12.5°C
Boiling point: 218~224°C
Density: 1.05g/cm³ (also available as 1.0g/cm³)
Refractive index: 1.4585~1.4605
Flash point: 76.6°C (also available at 127°C)
Water solubility: miscible, dispersible in water, alcohols and aromatic olefins, but poorly dispersible in aliphatic olefins and ether
Third, chemical properties
Diethylene glycolamine is an important solvent and organic raw material, can be dissolved with water, can dissolve aromatic hydrocarbons and absorb acidic gases (H2S and CO2).
Diethylene glycol amine is primary amine, with unique chemical properties, in the application of metalworking fluids, compared with other commonly used amines, the dissolution and corrosion of cobalt, copper and other metals is much lower than that of other amines, the corrosion protection of ferrous metals is good, and the tarnish corrosion of aluminium metal is low, and it has a high alkali value reserve capacity and PH stability.
Uses
It is mainly used as absorbent, surfactant and wetting agent of acid gas, and also can be used as raw material of polymer.
As a desulphurising agent, it has particularly good performance and is especially suitable for use in hot, water-scarce and desert areas.
As a catalyst in polyurethane foaming, the polyurethane foam produced has low odour and can produce rigid packaging foam and high resilience foam, which is widely used in automobiles, household appliances and other fields.
It is a widely used reactant for the preparation of pharmaceutical intermediates.
